My wife loves to sing in the shower, but can’t hear the music she’s playing from inside the stall. This necessitated a waterproof speaker… but that died too frequently! What we really needed was an integrated solution that utilized the power of water to charge it, so we wouldn’t have to. While shower heads with speakers exist, none were hydroelectrically powered… until now!
The Sonic Shower is a high-pressure shower head with an integrated hydroelectric generator that charges a magnetically-connected, removable speaker to add some power to your shower, and beyond The first iteration had a few issues; namely, it functioned well as a speaker, but was rather lacking in the shower department. I identified a few key issues from testing, which included a convoluted water travel path, an excess of chamber space and holes causing low pressure, and a poor connection between parts. I fixed these issues in the second version below, which is fully functional. The speaker is also connected in such a way that it does not come into contact with the water below, and is easily removable above the shower “ring”. The ring is open inside, so that sound from the speaker can come straight through, and water travels in a circular path around it.
